We finally replaced the old, splintery boards at the cabin up near Cavan with a nice wooden decking. The local lumber yard had this beautiful, rough-sawn larch that feels solid underfoot and already has that soft, silvery-grey look we wanted. The whole project took a weekend, but now it’s the perfect spot for morning coffee, watching the mist lift off the lake. It smells incredible after a rain, too.
